Rowena Whey

Rowena does everything: Travel=Yes, Host events=Yes, MC weddings=Yes, Bachelor(ette) parties=yes, Corporate events and presentations on queer topics=yes, Fundraisers=Yes, Family-Friendly shows=Yes, Anything else you can think of=Yes.

Rowena Whey (pronouns she/he/they) is Kingston’s premiere Drag Entertainer and Promoter. Her shows have entertained thousands, and enlisted stars from popular television shows plus many local and visiting drag performers. Rowena was voted “Best Theatre in Kingston” in 2021, 2022 & 2023, and has been recognized in national publications including Maclean’s and Broadview for her commitment to inclusion, community building, and growth. She was also the first drag performer ever to be pictured on a piece of alcohol sold in the LCBO with her charity beer partnership Queen of Wheat, and the only drag performer to have two with Queen of the Night, both with Spearhead Brewing Company.

Rowena’s shows are known for their comedy due to her exceptional hosting skills, and her performances are filled with sass, camp, dancing, muscles, and unbridled sexuality. Rowena slays ANY stage, and she has a car and will travel to you all across Ontario. Kingston’s muscle barbie is everything you’d expect from the obnoxious woman in the bar wearing leopard print, fishnets and stilettos. Strong, confident, fierce, bootylicious, and shady.

Rowena is responsible for the boom of Kingston’s drag community through her commitment to cultivating drag talent, and providing opportunities for new performers. This passion is second only to making the world a safer place for members of the 2SLGBTQIA* community. Rowena is actively involved in the Kingston community both in, and out of drag. She was the President of Kingston Pride from 2020 to 2023, and has been a guest speaker and performer for multiple charities/nonprofits and fundraising events for organizations including Edmonton Pride, Feed Ontario, International Day of Pink, Dawn House,  St. Lawrence Parks Commission, City of Kingston, Kingston Humane Society, Rainbow Railroad, the ISCWR, Trellis HIV & Community Care, and the CCGSD.
